Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Knappstein Wines, a renowned producer known for their exceptional quality and dedication to the craft. The project involved creating captivating product photography for two of their signature wines: the crisp and refreshing Riesling and the bold and robust Shiraz.

Setting the Stage for Elegance

My goal was to create visuals that not only showcased the beauty of the Knappstein bottles but also evoked the sensory experience of enjoying each wine.

For the Riesling shoot, I envisioned a light and airy atmosphere. I used soft, natural lighting and a pale backdrop to reflect the wine’s refreshing character. The bottle was positioned alongside a selection of accompaniments that complement its crisp acidity, such as a wedge of creamy brie cheese and a sprig of fragrant rosemary.

Capturing the Boldness of Shiraz

In contrast, the Shiraz photoshoot demanded a more dramatic approach. I opted for the same backdrop to make it cohesive but with some coloured napkins to make it bolder. A selection of bold accompaniments was arranged around the bottle. These included a pate, a cluster of ripe red grapes, and a sprig of rosemary, hinting at the Shiraz’s peppery undertones.

The Art of Collaboration

Throughout the shoot, I worked closely with the Knappstein team to ensure the visuals aligned perfectly with their brand identity. We discussed elements like colour palettes, textures, and the overall composition to create a cohesive visual narrative.

The Final Result

The final photographs are a testament to the exceptional quality of Knappstein wines. The imagery is visually stunning, capturing the essence of each wine while whetting the viewer’s appetite to experience them firsthand.
