A publication recently said that by the year 2024, there be more than 117,000 chefs around Australia, so you must have a chef portfolio that reflects all your different skills in a few images because it will be your first impression for future employers or clients.

Nowadays, our way of communication is through social media. Social media is infested with images or short videos, so you need quality images to stand out from the crowd; if you want to get noticed as a chef is vital to have a robust portfolio.

Therefore, you can learn some essential elements on how to compose images and use light in your favour to enlighten all your dishes and let your clients try and buy your food.
All images are from a session I made with a chef here in Adelaide for her food blog – portfolio.

I shot for half a day and showcased 6 of the dishes that she styled the plates. The session was in her backyard because we agreed we wanted this rustic feeling with natural elements and natural light. The approach was minimalistic because we wanted to be the food, the main thing on the scene.

If you are a chef working in Adelaide and want to explore building a portfolio for you, don’t hesitate to contact me, and we can make something great with your talent in the kitchen and my passion for great pictures.
